 Where Should I Post?
« Thread Started on Dec 9, 2004, 3:55pm »

First of all, posting is good. Unless you have a private matter than cannot be posted, like you want to discuss donations or ask a personal question, try not to PM me. I like having all questions on the board, that way anyone who might have the same question will be able to find their answer on the board. Now here are some guidelines for determining which board to post in:

1) Always read the stickies in every board as soon as you visit it. Pay attention to the name and description of the board you're posting in as well. This will save us time and save you the embarrassment.

2) GT is only for General Talk, as in sports, movies, current events, or anything that is unrelated to the actual topic of this board, which is coding and graphics.

3) If it's about graphics, it goes in the Graphics category (duh :P). If it's not an image request, it should go in Graphics Chat. There are also contests in the Graphics Showdown area.

4) If you like one of SoCal's features and want it on your board, check the Code Index here. If you can't find it there, it isn't being released. Please do not request the codes you see used here.

5) If you're looking for a ProBoards code, check the Code Index here, and the code databases at SSD, ZDesign and ProBoards Support  for it. If you can't find it anywhere, post a request in the Code Request section (please read the stickies first!).

6) If you're looking for a general code that is not specific to ProBoards (think: Can this code be used on other websites? Like a no-right-click code for example) then search google, because chances are you'll find it.

7) If you're having problems with one of the codes posted here, reply in the thread for that code. Be sure to post your board URL. Read the support sticky in the code database board for more info. If you're having problems with a code you got from somewhere else, like SSD, post there, not here. We don't give support for other peoples' codes. For more general coding support try the code support board over at ProBoards Support.

8) If you need help with your Proboard or want to know how to use a feature of ProBoards, click the [help] button  in the menu above or visit ProBoards Support.

9) If you are a coder or want to be, check out the Coders' Hangout. There are two coding boards there; one is for HTML and CSS, and the other is for everything else, predominantly JavaScript. You can find and submit tutorials in each.

10) Finally, the Code Submission board is only for submitting ProBoards codes that you have created yourself, from scratch. Ripping codes is the easiest way to get banned from SoCal. Generally only JavaScript codes are accepted. Basic examples and open-source snippets should be posted in one of the other two coding boards.
